Carsten Bohn  played in two famous German bands (drums) 'City Preachers' and 'Frumpy' before forming in 1977 his own band 'Bandstand' . He has worked in the meantime with Jan Hammer, Peter Baumann a reformed 'Frumpy2' and is still active as a musician and producer.

Between 1973 and 1974 Carsten Bohn formed  a short lived band (in fact two bands with CB as only common point) named after his son 'Dennis'. 'Dennis' released only one record 'Hyperthalamus' (1974)that presents the two 'Dennis' formations one more rock and the other more Jazz.

Even so M.I. Real is mentionned for lyrics, ("real"  is just a pun for field recordings in a railway station with some dialogue snippets, not unlike 'Neu', that open the record), the record is entirely instrumental. The first 'Krautrock'  side, mixes eperimental studio work, with great guitar work by Kretschmar and an overall melancolic feeling.'Do Your Own Thing' the first track is fantastic.

 The side long track (side 2) is a jam session centered around a great Fender Rhodes improvisation , that reminds strongely the first 'Return  To Forever' record. The track is more traditional Jazz-Rock and looses a little in comparaison to bands like Mahavishnu or RTF (especially the solos of Pape are not very interesting) but it's  nevertheless a great track. 

A record that is worth checking out.
