What if instead of recommendations/polls/general prog discussion we had a forum for each prog genre, or at least the biggest genres? I mean it just sort of gets tiring all these Opeth/Dream Theater fanboys making like a topic a day about them, if we had a "Sub-forum" or whatever the sections there would be a designated area to ask those questions that I think some of the members of this forum (such as myself) are getting tired of.

Or we could just have a noob room and subtitle it DREAM THEATER/OPETH THREADS LOLLOL
If anyone knows where I can get a copy of some Flute and Voice (Indo-Prog/Raga Rock) albums please PM me! Many thanks!

This was tried over one year ago after mazny members were asking for it. Lasted three weeks and it came back to one sole prog lounge

Nobody liked the segregation

However, although abandoned of late, there was still a project of a progmetal lounge forum that lasted until November last year.

Usually this subject comes bacj with every new Opeth, or Dream theater album release and the utmost fanboyism they provoke
let's just stay above the moral melee
prefer the sink to the gutter
keep our sand-castle virtues
content to be a doer
as well as a thinker,
prefer lifting our pen
rather than un-sheath our sword

What's frightening here is that you might actually truly believe that this would improve things.

We tried that once about a year or so ago, but there was a big uproar about it so it was changed.

Yeah, I bet it was because the Raga-Rock forum was simply overflowing with posts. :-) Sometimes I woner why we even have that genre, since nobody seems to like it a whole lot and there's not many albums in it. Not that I'm saying we should delete it.

Nah, bad idea. Who knows, one day someone may just come up with something that will change my mind. Doubtful, but anthing is possible.

Besides, I get a good chuckle out of some of it.
