ROCHESTER, NY PROGRESSIVE ROCK FESTIVAL COMPLETES LINEUP FOR OCTOBER "Prog In The Park" Adds Legendary Guitarist Steve Howe From Yes And A Tribute To Gentle Giant Rochester, NY - June 5, 2006 - PROG IN THE PARK (PITP) (www.PROG90.com) has announced final plans for the festival's fourth annual edition. The two day event will be held October 7 and 8, 2006. Featured performers include guitarist Steve Howe from the bands Yes & Asia, Sweden's The Flower Kings and bass virtuoso Percy Jones (Brand x) and his band Tunnels.
Prog In The Park was founded in 2003 and is becoming one of the nation's fastest growing events supporting the progressive rock genre. The fourth edition will feature eight acts over two days with musicians coming from four countries and attendees trekking to Rochester from throughout the entire US and Canada. PITP is one of the most eclectic events in the region, presenting all forms of creative electric and acoustic music. Fusions of jazz, rock, classical and country are combined to present the instrumental and symphonic sound "prog rock" is so well known for.
Additional artists participating include Gende's Giant (a tribute to popular 70’s prog band Gentle Giant), Helmet of Gnats, Karcius, Might Could and vonFrickle.
