The groupies of all are wonderful prog bands! They keep them happy and in good morale. Very essential if you ask me.

I remember seeing Babe Ruth live in the mid 70's and yes what a great performer Jenny (Janita) Haan was. Not prog, but I always thought that Elkie Brookes was one of the best ever jazz/blues cross-over singers. P.S. Susanna Hoffs of the Bangles was a darned good singer and pretty hot. too.. come to think of it they all were. ![]() Edited by Floydoid - May 16 2007 at 09:01 |

Vocals, too; she does most of the vocals on their album. Another Québécoise is Christiane Robichaud of Contraction. One of the drawbacks of liking the sort of music I do is that there are so few women artists-- I'd like to keep my music collection fairly balanced but it just doesn't work out. Thanks for this thread; I'll have to check out some of the bands I didn't know about--and really I'm at least as interested in bands with non-singing women, because female-fronted bands with male musicians are much more common than the opposite. |

Tale Cue's Laura Basla is a hottie. Too bad they only did one album. It's a sleeper-classic.

While we're on the topic of folk singers, what about Bridget St John (a favourite of John Peel), and Lesley Duncan (who guested on Dark Side)?
