69 - 72 has some of my favourite albums (Hot Rats, Waka Jawaka & Grand Wazoo), but it also has those awful 'Flo & Eddie' albums.

Exactly the same here Tongue
Although maybe not 'by a mile'.....
The best you can is good enough...

73-75; I cannot get enough of the Duke-Underwood-Underwood-Thompson-etc. lineup.

The original Mothers are close, as is the Hot Ratz period.

Mee too with addition of "One size fits all" and "Big Wazoo". Also live "Roxy and elsewhere" and "The best band you'll never heard in your life" with lineup from Joe's garage are my favorites

Agreed, it's way too hard to narrow done the given choices. All of the line-ups were great for different reasons.  I might give an edge to the Joe's Garage to Them or Us era simply because most everything else in the music world was turning to garbage at the time.
