All good...If you like Gilmour you must also (at least somewhat) like Roine Stolt. On both his solo releases & with TFK, I'm frequently reminded of Gilmour's style & sound...Belew has so many unique sounds, he apparently does a lot of experimentation with both synths & vintage guitar processors...

Ah yes, forgot Eric Johnson...Once read a couple of Guitar Player articles where he talked about only using battery-driven effects, and that he made sure that those batteries were at least partially drained before using them because fully charged ones made those effects sound different...Now that's what I call attention to detail...Wonder how long it takes him to get ready for a show, and how much he spends on batteries?

Yes I like Roine Stolt, although Gilmour has more bluesy sound. Roine is very versatile, he can sound like Gilmour or like Steve Howe, or like a jazz guitarist  depending on the requeriments of the song, he's good on many styles.
Belew makes many of his weird sounds using the vibrato bar (in fact one of his solo albums is named "Twang Bar King"), and Alan Morse has learned very much from him (he uses to name him as  one of his main influences).

I've seen pictures of some of Belew's various live stage setups & I counted at least 15 effects, a couple of them multi-effects units (and that's just what was visible - I thought I had a lot of gear!). He's also a long-time user of Roland's various guitar synth products since the 70's...Lately I've been reading interviews where he's talking about going back to a more basic approach, just plugging straight into a Johnson JM150 amp, which has a bunch of Digitech effects on board...He's even featured on Johnson's site as a prime endorser...

Stefan Weinerhall - Guitarist from Falconer and Mithotyn

Maybe not a lot of people's cup of tea, but the man is gifted.  Incredible guitar tone and he never fails to impress with his melodic genius.
