 Topic: Prog song written in Latin

I'm an aspiring songwriter who's trying to do something different, and I thought, why not write a song with Latin Lyrics? I just want to hear others' opinions on it just to see if it's a good idea.
Also, what style should it be? I've been thinking maybe of a gothic sound, but that might be too cliche.

Why not give it a try why feel self conscious if it cliche or not if, it is your passion do it!
By the way I think latin lyrics are a good idea especially with gothic music. In the end you'll only know if it is good if you try it out.
Magma wrote songs in kobian so don't think latin lyrics are a stupid idea, but make sure you can take the audience with you, since many people won't understand the lyrics, make the vocals an art form like Magma and Mike Oldfield does, rather than just a conveyer of words.
You could be on the edge of something new and exciting here.

- Deux Ex Machina: A lot of songs in Latin
- Jacula: Anno Demoni CD, all in Latin
- Steeleye Span/Medieval Baebes/Galahad: Gaudete
- Offenbach: Went further Soap Opera album is not only partially sung in Latin, but adds a mass by a priest in Latin as background for their organ music
- Os Mundi: Latin Mass album, the name says it all.
This are the 5 bands I think on now (Well, really 7, because three bands sing the same track on different ocasions)
BTW: It's a great idea to release something inspired in Gothic era, better take a look at the Ars Nova period, where you find a lot of great organ works, coser to Symphonic Prog.

There's a satanic extreme black/death metal band called Belphegor, which has lirycs in latin, blasphemy  !!
AND I STUDY LATIN AT SCHOOL  , IT'S A NICE LANGUAGE !!

Peter Hammill once wrote lyrics in Latin, for a David Jackson Song, but it never saw the light of day...
