Here a poll about Toto. Are they prog-related or not? I should say yes, listen to Home Of The Brave and you know what I mean

Let's hear what your opinion is

Noooo!!! Oh, I don't know, someone will probably come up with a reason why they should be.

Wasn't their drummer Jeff Porcaro, who worked with Steely Dan?

They are prog-related, although remotely. Take the excellent 'Hydra' for instance. And their collaboration with Jon Anderson ('The Seventh One') and Ian Anderson (on their latest effort 'Falling in Between') is not accidental. The title number off 'Falling in Between' is very Yes-ish.

They are AOR but not even prog-related, sorry. They made some good music though for those of us who grew up in the '80's.

Uhm... Is difficult to establish if the TOTO are to include in www.progarchives.com. The sole song that I listened to and that was Jazz Prog is "99" from the album "Hydra". Here here they were almost Prog. For the remainder good AOR or Class Rock... But nothing more.

For always yours, Mandrakeroot.

Well... not too much "prog-related" but because of "Hydra" for example the thought is not COMPLETELY wrong
...I'm a musician/singer/songwriter, visit me on www.reverbnation.com/rupertlenz and there you can choose from 125 recordings you can listen to ( for free ) if you're not limited to prog-rock !

It's not prog-related, but I do think it's progger-related: I'm sure lots of progfans have listened to Toto albums, more than the average person. In the eighties especially, when prog was a bit underground.

I have good memories about Toto, but once I discovered progrock, I did listen to it less and less.
