You have the power to ressurect one corpse from musical history. Who would it be?

Jimi? Janis? Lennon? Mozart? Beethoven? Elvis? (unless he really isn't dead) Sid Vicious? Nick Drake? Johnny Thunders? Sonny Bono? Jeff Buckley? Paganini? Falco? Mel Torme? Hoyt Axton? Tammy Wynette? Wendy O. Williams? Randy Rhoads? etc.

Jeff Porcaro (every time I gave a spin to TOTO albums, I can't help thinking of his unfortune)

and was always too shy to say hello

all amazing but if i had to choose one I'd say
Bonham, sounded like not a tremendously nice chap
but if he hadn't got it all wrong it would have resulted
in a few more Zep albums and how much would we
like that....

I love to have seen how Jimi Hendrixs would have music would have progressed, if he could change the face of music in 4 short years then what would he have done in a ilfe time. (all covered i think in a previous thread though).

OOh what about keith Moon i wonder if he will still be smashing up his kit

Jeff Buckley by a mile. Died too early, too young and during the time he was laying down his second album. The Grace album was an amazing first album by any standards, so just think where he could have gone next. And with Jeff alive, he would be controlling his own music rather than it in the hands of the money grubbers as it is now.

I just wanted to say that, despite the possible outrageous intentions of gdub's reply, Tiny Tim would be a great choice- he was one of the greatest performing historians of forgotten pop songs from the later 19th and early 20th century. While his outre image and genereal mental instability overshadowed this dedication, few of the other folks on the list represent such deep dedication to an almost-forgotten era of musical history.

...and look at it this way- the cultural disorientation would make it difficult for people like Mozart or Beethoven to pick up where they left off, but I have a feeling it wouldn't phase Tiny one bit
