I've always debated what my favorite post-Fish era, Hogarth-fronted Marillion album was. Perhaps oddly enough, it's the last album, Marbles, that I seem to go back to the most. Brave and Season's End would be close seconds though.

What's yours?

I am not a fan of Hogarth era Marillion, but Brave is an incredible album.

Marbles isn't bad at all either.

Holidays in Eden is the only post-Fish era cd I ever owned. I thought it was an ok disc. After that I received Afraid of Sunlight & This Strange Engine. Several times I tried to listen to each of these, and just could not get used to either of them.

IMO, Marillion just isn't the same without Fish.

Marbles and Brave are close, I chose Marbles but I do enjoy the rest as well.

most definitely AFRAID OF SUNLIGHT. the three
predecessors went into all sorts of directions, but
this is the first one, where everything clicked! from
then on they really went places. but this one is the
essential marillion/hogarth album. no emoticon
necessary here.
progressive rock and rural tranquility don't match. true or false?

I see that Holidays In Eden are the record that most people think is the "worst" Marillion album. Here's a funny fact... That exact record is the one that brought me into Marillion and prog-music in the first place. I liked it so good that I tried another Marillion-album (Misplaced Childhood), and then it was done.
I think it is some really good tracks on this specific album: 100 nights, splintering heart and the party.
A reunion.......it will never happen in my lifetime!!

Too hard, each album has its weak and strong points. I would go with Season's End I guess, even though it contains "Hooks in You," arguably the worst song they released. The rest of the album is magnificent though, some of Marillion's best work.
