HOLY CRAP!!!

I know this has nothing to do with prog., but i just watched bubba Hotep for the first time, and its already my favorite movie. HOLY sh*t%!!!!! It sounds so stupid but its honestly an amazing film and the message and meaning send shivers down your spine. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

It's a great, quirky, one-of-a kind film. I wouldn't recommend it for everyone but if you like it at all, you'll absolutely love it. I'd been looking forward to it ever since I heard Bruce Campbell (an underrated comic genius, IMAO) talk about it during his book tour for "If Chins Could Talk- Confessions of a B-Movie Actor" which is also hilariously funny at times. The concept sounded so bizarre that I had to see the film just to see if director Don Coscarelli could pull it off (I'm a fan of his Phantasm series but it had definite shortcomings...who'd have thought he could be deep and funny?). It totally transcends the typical "horror movie with underlying social commentary" genre.

Thanks for reminding me, TMB...I'm gonna go watch it again now

The soundtrack is verygood for a low budget effort. The composer, whose name I don't remember (is it Brian Tyler?) is being hailed as the next best thing by many soundtrack fans: preciselly, I went this weekend to a Howard Shore concert in Seville with a group of soundtracks aficionados and they talked about him.

We also talked about Trevor Rabin. He's considered as good as in prog circles.

The movie is funny and unexpected. Not a great one, but recommended for b-movie fanatics and rarities hunters.
