Recently I bought Gong's 'Radio Gnome Invisible Part II' and 'Shamal' issued together in a double box as 'Double Original'. On the back cover you can read that 'Shamal' was issued by Virgin Records in 1989 whilst in The Archives it's dated 1976 (as for 'Radio Gnome...' the date is the same as in The Archives)! Can anyone explain that difference? Did they rerecord the album in 1989 or what?

Radio Gnome 2 was recorded in 1973 and Shamal in 1975 (released in 1976)

Both albums were re-released on CD in 1989, therefore, it says 1989 on your compilation!

That's a strange compilation... surely it'd be better to group the Radio Gnome Invisible albums together?  Or at least You and Shamal?

I've got Flying Teapot and You, but not Part II and I've yet to hear them, I plan to soon though.

I stand semi-corrected, then. I still maintain that was a pretty troll-ish comment.

Which planet are you from, Snow Dog?
