“The recording process for “Ashes Against The Grain” was completed this past weekend. The album is currently being mixed and will hopefully be ready for mastering in a couple weeks. A studio gallery will be posted online shortly.”

BTW - does anyone here love Agalloch. I find their sound so beautiful and relaxing. Their music fits my personality so perfectly, its amazing, I might have written stuff like that if I were as good a musician as they are.

Definately man, when I'm in the mood for it, their songs just blow me away.  Some of the most emotional listening I've ever had with an album.  Personally I'd give the edge to The Mantle against Pale Folklore.  I can't wait for the new album.

Agalloch is definitely original, but once again, it's the vocals that keep me away from fully enjoying this band. I can stand it most of the time, but I really wish they only used clean vocals, or at least more often than not.

As someone who loves all forms of metal in addition to prog and other fomrs of music I find their vocals more than fitting the music and just the right thing to create the atmosphere of the songs. It is like in the Opeth case, I know Opeth as a death metal band (since Orchid) and I was surprised to hear they sing in clean vocals but it also captivated me. The same goes here, I expected the vocals eceryone here don't like, and I was surprised to hear the clean mellow vocals which I think are very beautiful and the combination in both bands is a very good choice that gives them the opportunity to express the different sides of their music. Thankfully I got into Metal and Prog as a young child so I don't have problems with vocal styles whatsoever.

Have a good day everyone.

I listened to Pale Folklore more than a year ago and was quite underwhelmed ... seemed kind of sloppy. I'll listen again ...
