Hello,

Thks for your forum and website

Long long time ago, a friend gave me some Prog Rock CD records (Galadriel, Chandelier, Arrakeen, Galaad).

I'm not fan of these bands but it was free !

But there is a firth CD of an interesting band (it is the one I listen today) :

ELEPHANT & CASTLE

I din't found it in your prog database.

What could I say else ?

- it is a french Band (cocorico !)

- the title is The Green One

- the label is MSI Distribution

- the CD whas manufactured in Switzerland

- the musicians are : Don Marques (Bass), R.P.P. Hennequin (Keyboards), Edouard Poujaud (Guitars), Avedis (Drums), Steinberger (Vocals, Synhthetiser)

- there are 6 good titles

- the year is not labelled on the CD (probably early 90's)

 

Is it realy new for you ?

In this case I could send you MP3 and scans of the cover/infold

Hi Zaïa!

First, let me tell you that your english is much better than "Elephant & Castle" 's singer one on this album.

And if I can tell you this, it's parceque c'est moi!

La date d'édition exacte est 1991, et je mentirai si je te disais que ça ne fait pas plaisir de savoir que quelqu'un l'écoute encore aujourd'hui.

Le groupe a splité en 1997.

Je continu depuis une carrière solo et je vais sortir un album sous le nom de Stehn.

En ce qui concerne "Elephant & Castle", la bonne nouvelle c'est que Edouard Poujaud (le guitariste) et moi remontons le projet, et une partie du répertoire en duo (+ machines).

Si nous sommes prèts,nous ferons un premier éssais "Live" le 21 Juin, place Stravinsky (face au 2 rue Brisemiche)  Paris 4°. M° Hotel de Ville.

Si tu veux en savoir plus ou si tu veux être tenu(e) au courant, n'hésite pas à m'envoyer un mail.

Stehn, ou Steinberger si tu préfères.

Maybe a mp3 for free, so we know what kind of music you make?

Oups, sorry! I 've forgoten that I was on an international website. So lets talk english if I still can.

I was saying to Zaïa that I am "Elephant & Castle" 's singer.

The date of our album release is 1991. The band has splited in 1997.

I'm singing solo now, and I'm recording my first album right now.

Recently, Edouard Poujaud (Elephant & Castle's guitarist) and I have decided to reform Elephant & Castle in a duet form (with machines). We'll soon play live in Paris and should record an album before the end of the year.

Of course, I can send a mp3 for free of what I'm doing now solo and some new titles of E&C.

Just tell me the way to do it, I'm not use to exchange music on this kind of forum.

Il y’a quelques années mon amie avait assisté 2 ans de suite au concert d’Elephant and Castle durant la fête de la musique ( Place Stravinski). Elle avait beaucoup apprécié, et se souvenait qu’un cd était vendu par le groupe.

 

J’avais fait des recherches sur le net mais sans succès. Quelques sites de vente de disques rares mais sans que ça aboutisse. Je crois que la maison de disque MSI n’existe plus.

 

Et là, j’ai eu la chance de tomber sur ce forum. Est il encore possible  de se procurer ce cd ?.

 

Vous parlez d’une reformation du groupe et d’un concert pendant la prochaine fête de la musique en 2005.Voila de bonnes news. On essaiera d’y aller !

 Personnellement je ne connais pas la musique que produisait Elephant and Castle.Y’a t-il un moyen de s’en faire une idée par des extraits mp3 etc.
