OK people, been getting into this scene of late, I'd like to know who you think stands out as a keyboardist (although I'm sure some of you will vote just based on which band you like the most)

Try and discuss why you like each musician too ... if you're going to vote it would be cool if you're familiar with the music of at least three of them

I should probably mention (before I get slammed ) that while main men Roine Stolt (Flower Kings), Jacob Holm-Lupo (White Willow) and Niklas Berg (Anekdoten) also dabble in keys, I have decided not to include them, nor have I gone for keyboardists in prog-metal bands ... I'm sure I've still forgetten someone ... so sorry in advance ...

"No" replies the unhumbled optimist "You are only the present."

That first Froislie vote is mine ... he gets it narrowly ahead of Anglagard's Thomas Johnson ... mainly for his work on Wobbler's Hinterland album ... to be fair these keyboardists seem to enjoy more room in these projects than many of their "rivals" ... at least based on what I've heard ...

BTW, I've heard all of them except Jan Tariq Rahman and Bjorn Lynne

Anna Sofi Dahlberg  ....  I have seen this stunning beauty with her tiny hands touching the Mighty M400 Tron two years ago during a concert near The Hague in The Neterlands, WHAT A VISUAL AND MUSICAL HIGHLIGHT  !!!

You forgot the fantastic keyboardist from Sweden's A.C.T. Jerry Sahlin!  His orchestrations are complex, varied, modern, and always wonderful.  My vote goes for him.

Trotsky I'm surprised you have omitted two major players: Mats Oberg of Mats Morgan Band - several threads elsewhere on his skills  - and Jens Johnasson , check out JJ's entry on the archives. And if you shift into nu.fusion, then Estbjorn Svenssen and Bugge Wesseltoft immediately come to mind.
