Topic: Best Early ELP Album? Posted: February 01 2006 at 21:39 |
I already have Brain Salad Surgery and Tarkus, but I don't know which to get next. Do they sound good live? Where do they sound the most like the Tarkus title track, I love those crazy rhythm parts!

oh hmm...
next one to get.... try ELP (the debut), it is different from the
two you have but just as good. It's more classical-rock in
nature. Do they sound good live?...... hahahahha..... HELL
YES!!!! The bootlegs I have from them are amoung my favorites
from ANY group. Not to mention video/DVD's of their
performances. They weren't known as the MASTERS OF THE STAGE for
nothing. Tarkus soundalike? nothing compares to
Tarkus. That is a Classic.

Brain Salad Surgery is a Prog Rock MASTERPIECE, and it actually cheers me up to listen to, especially Jerusalem. It's flawless in my opinion and Karn Evil 9 should be in the top 3 prog epics of all time, amazing stuff. I also love Trilogy and Tarkus, I should give 'Pictures...' more listens, I do like it.

I've only heard part of Brain Salad Surgery, but from what I've heard it's an excellent album. Great moog solo by the way

Brain Salad Surgery is their best, although I haven't heard the 5.1 version yet, which I want to do!
