I was absolutely astounded a little while back to take out an old vinyl of my dads called "Asia", I opened it up to take a look and a picture of the band members popped out, I just gaped at it!

Steve Howe, Carl Palmer, Geoff Downes, and John Wetton!

I asked him were they any good and all he said was "heat of the moment that's good" and went back to reading his paper or whatever.

But seeing that line up got me thinking about other musicians who pop up in different bands. I know 'Richie Sinclair' was in Hatfield and the Horth AND Camel! As well as Caravan of course

So what other musicians were in several different bands???!!!! I'd love to know, And the years they were in the groups too...

OH! And wasn't Wetton in a band called UK too?

Edit: Wetton is amazing on that 'UK' record

Clive Nolan is one guy who never ceases to amaze me...he's in Arena, Pendragon, Shadowland, Strangers On A Train & Nolan & Wakeman, at least to my knowledge.

He's also been invloved with Damian Wilson's Solo stuff, Ayreon, Martin Darvill, Landmarq, Janison Edge and God knows what else...

To complete Bill Bruford: He played in Yes, King Cimson, UK, Gong (though no recordings of his time with Gong exist, at least no official ones), Bruford (his own band, and it was a band more than a solo project), and finally Earthworks. He also did two albums with Yes keyboarder Patrick Moraz. And I'm not sure these were all of his projects...
Dave Stewart played with Arzachel, Egg, Hatfield and the North, National Health and Khan; also on solo albums of Steve Hillage. All in all the whole Cantebury scene is very much interwoven; it's not easy to name any 2 musicians of that scene who NEVER played with each other.
German bass player Helmut Hattler (why does he never appear in bass player polls? In Germany he is regarded as one of the best bass players of all time, and I don't mean just German ones) played with Kraan, Guru Guru, Liliental, Tab Two and Highdelberg.
Roland Schaeffer played with Brainstorm, Guru Guru, Embryo and his own band Roland und die Dadadogs.
Ingo Bischof played with Karthago, Guru Guru and Kraan.
Gerald Luciano Hartwig played with Karhago, Guru Guru, Embryo and the Roman Bunka Band. (Amon Düül 2, Embryo, Guru Guru, Karthago and a few other German bands were swapping musicians all the time).

John Jowitt did play Bass in Arena, IQ, Jadis & Dirtbox...all at the same time, besides holding down a full time job...

Wetton never played with Genesis.Bruford did.

After Asia Wetton did a bunch of solo stuff, also collaborated with Goeff Downes and Phil Manzanera and also Ken Hensley among others. He then started drinking like crazy, got fat and depressed. Not sure where he is now.Let' hope he got back on track.
