Tough call, given that Octopus would normally account for 8 of them, but (in no particular order):

  1. Peel the Paint
  2. Pantagruel's Nativity
  3. Think of me With Kindness
  4. Funny Ways
  5. Knots
  6. The Runaway
  7. Wreck
  8. An Inmate's Lullaby
  9. Raconteur Troubadour
  10. Working all Day

Peel the Paint is one of the best songs ever written in any genre ever, and is a splendid description of the creative process. I've never understood why 3 Friends is such an overlooked album. I make no excuses for including Wreck - I know lots of hard core fans look down on it, but I like it. Let's face, Gentle Giant put more good ideas into one song than many bands put into entire albums.

'Like so many of you
I've got my doubts about how much to contribute
to the already rich among us...'

Robert Wyatt, Gloria Gloom

3. Peel the Paint

4. In a Glass House

5. On Reflection

6. Just the Same
