Brian Connolly of Sweet says we're a serious rock band, so Set Me Free from these ridiculous costumes. Smile

I think I've heard a few of these albums in my life, but the only one I can actively recall knowing is David Bowie's The Man Who Sold the World. That is one of my favourite Bowie albums, and not only did I listen to Bowie when I was young, and on-and-off after, but over the last decade or so I had a major resurgence of interest in David Bowie's music and got to know considerably more of it. Despite my lack of knowledge, and I know I could check youtube, I will vote for that Bowie album. I wouldn't have much to add to the fabric of these threads because I'd just be "Bowie", "Bowie", "Bowie", "Bowie", like some repetitive fanboy. :)

In case anyone can't see the video, it's David Bowie with Klaus Nomi performing "The Man Who Sold the World" on Saturday Night Live (hosted by Martin Sheen).

Interesting to see him with Klaus Nomi on SNL, but I feel Nomi was wasted here at least. Not a very dynamic performance all around.

"Wouldn't You Like It" is the first album by the Bay City Rollers where the band wrote all of their own songs. Ahh, bless their little tartan cotton socks. Tongue

Their run of 4 albums up to Off The Record in 1977 are great. Loved them back in the day but they lost the plot around 1979 and Connolly left, Was never quite the same after that although they still tour and are putting out albums (only 2 of the original members are still alive, Andy Scott and Steve Priest. Priest is no longer involved and I'm not sure the 2 of them are talking any longer)

Yes. Without your comment I would have placed them third or fourth without thinking about it.

T. Rex - The Slider
David Bowie - The Man Who Sold the World
Roxy Music - Stranded
Steve Harley & Cockney Rebel - The Best Years of Our Lives

I haven't heard Sweet Fanny Adams, or any Sweet album. It seems like I should give them a chance.
