I have a soft spot for Steve Hillage's "Open"; I found it embraced perfectly what was happening in music in 1979, with elements of punk, post-punk, new romantic and disco, while still having the Hillage sound.

A Gong at the beginning announces Pierre Moerlen's Breakthrough album - easily my favourite album in the poll. Smile

Got to be You for me too, although Atavachron is also amazing.
Breakthrough in my opinion is one of the most forgettable Moerlen albums

It would appear I'm the only one who's still voting for Pierre Moerlen's Gong in every poll. Oh well, I'm used to being the odd one out here, with the emphasis on "odd". Tongue

^ Neurologically divergent is another term to consider, with the emphasis on being divergent neurologically. :) You is such a masterpiece, but not all will "get" it. My second choice would be Mother Gong & Daevid Allen's The Owl and the Tree, which has some lovely music on it.

Yes, because you're in the company of people where a majority are predisposed to enjoy the stranger options more than the "normal" ones. So you're often the odd one out here as you gravitate towards the most conventional sounding music (albums, bands, artists, songs...). Well, conventional in the context of PA that is. I'm sure you're seen as a weirdo music taste wise in real life - just like the rest of us.
