I don't expect this poll to get much traction. These are 26 of my favourites that released music from 2010 up. I hope to do one later covering female artists with music I like from other decades (some of these have music I love from earlier too), and similar male polls.
I made a playlist with one track per artists from 2010 up (mostly gathered from another playlist of mine -- lots of tracks I have mentioned at various times): Feel free to vote for one you appreciate with very limited familiarity, and one can vote for up to three artists (more if you really want to), but please no more than one vote per artist. |

Interesting, surprised to see only votes for PJ Harvey and Uboa in this multiple choice poll. Thanks to those who did vote. Just choosing three seems a ridiculous task to me, but I guess Natalie Mering (aka Weyes Blood), Julia Holter and Kristin Hayter (aka Lingua Ignota) are a dang fine trio per my tastes. Add one vote to Joanna Newsom too. That said, I don;t want to voite in my own poll because I really like all and want to see how others go. Of my recent discoveries, I really like Camila Moreno and L'Rain. From the playlist I curated from their albums, this is the most recent song here I discovered and loved. Anyway, sorry if there are too many of the usual suspects here a la my topics, or not enough from a Prog angle to make this interesting. I love contemporary music, and I love the artistry across these artists: from the more pop to the more experimental. By the way, what is the best forum for discussing such music that people know of? I mean I discovered most of this through RateYourMusic charts, but the forum seems "too big" for me. Maybe I could make my own Subreddit. I don't know how good a fit my interests are for PA, let alone my terrible humour and conversational skills. Been putting off moving on to be honest.

The five I have a hard time selecting three out of: Natalie Laura Mering (aka Weyes Blood) Kristin Hayter (aka Lingua Ignota) Beth Gibbons Polly Jean Harvey (aka PJ Harvey) Susanne Sundfør Another five I really like, but perhaps not their whole body of work at the same level as the ones above: |

I am not veri familiar with this selection, but those two Nordic ladies from 1986 deserve a vote.

Tough one this... I go with Anna von Hausswolff, Joanna Newsom, and PJ Harvey. I could well have voted for Julia Holter, Pan Daijing, Beth Gibbons.

Susanne Sundfor is the best female artist in the world at the moment, in the continued absence of Kate Bush.

If Susanne Sundfor is comparable to Kate Bush, then that's someone I really need to listen to.
