Hello all,
Some of you may be interested to know that the mysterious prog/psych unit Dodo Resurrection II just released a new album, entitled "Secret Rites of Self-Purification".  Following on from their acclaimed cassette "A Treatise on Ceremonial Magic" (#93 on The Quietus' Albums of the Year 2023), "Secret Rites..." is their most compositionally-focussed effort to date, featuring plenty of trademark nods to the occult-friendly, tritone-heavy proto-metal and exploito soundtrack wah-wah wig-outs of the late '60s and early '70s, as well as taking in gentler, more pastoral psych folk and groovy, organ-drenched Canterbury Scene influences, the album climaxing in a rush of phased-out space madness! "Secret Rites of Self-Purification" comes as a factory-duplicated CD-R in a full colour 4-panel Digipak and is limited to 100 copies.  Just a reminder if you haven't yet picked it up that the third Dodo Resurrection II album "Secret Rites of Self-Purification" is currently available for a reduced price via my Bandcamp page: Indeed, if you're still struggling to find a gift for that pesky prog rock bore in your life, then this pro-CD-R in a handsome full-colour digipak is the perfect stocking-filler! Sadly, unlike last year I've no end of year chart glory to report for the album, but a big thanks anyway to Noel Gardner from The Quietus for mentioning Dodo Resurrection II in his "New Weird Britain: 2024 in Review" round-up!
