The same can be said of Zep's splendid Physical Graffiti. There are, of course, radio staples like "Kashmir", "Trampled Underfoot", "The Wanton Song" and "Custard Pie", which are all really great songs, but "Ten Years Gone", "In My Time of Dying" and the absolutely beautiful acoustic "Bron-Yr-Aur" are my favorites.

Indeed.  I especially particularly love "Ten Years Gone" off that album.  "In the Light" and also "Down by the Seaside" are some others I really like.   Superb album.

Yes! Along with the aforementioned "Bron-Yr-Aur" the third side of "Physical Graffiti" is one of the best sides of vinyl ever IMHO.

I have always rated the first side of "Meddle" very highly except for that canine howling at the end of it, which somehow warrants the whole side being dismissed by some.

The Who "I'm One"
The Who "Another Tricky Day"
Simple Minds "Shake Off the Ghosts"

^ Led Zeppelin's "Carouselambra" always seemed the stand-out of In Through the Out Door to me, but I guess "All of My Love" (which I also love) is the one that would overshadow it in the general public conscience (a better known one) -- especially for those who only know songs and not the whole album. "Carouselambra" is one of my very favourite tracks, the one I would be most likely to mention from Zep as a fave, and I like In Through the Out Door much more than many on the whole.

For Led Zeppelin, the most famous song would be "Stairway to Heaven", but "Four Stciks" is my standout off IV. "Rock and Roll" is another famous one off that album, and that is one of my least liked Zep song. I'd much rather listen to "Misty Mountain Hop" and "When the Levee Breaks"
"Questions are a burden to others; answers a prison for oneself" (The Prisoner, 1967).

Nice post. Tongue

Heartbreaker is overshadowed by Whole Lotta Love on LZ II.

I chose "Carouselambra" because "Fool in the Rain" and "All My Love" are heard far more often and are that album's most recognizable songs. "Carouselambra" would be a Top 5 Led Zeppelin track for me, and In Through the Out Door, while not perfect, is my favorite Led Zeppelin album.

"Fool in the Rain", nice song too and I would hear that on the radio quite a bit. That was my friend's favourite from the album growing up. "Carouselambra" is very special to me (I adore it).

Thank You, which also happens to my favourite song on Led Zeppelin II, and one of my very favourite Led Zep songs period ("Thank You" is a candidate for top Zep song for me too). "Ramble On" is a fave of mine from that album that may not be mentioned very much -- it's something I can relate to (lol). Led Zep gives me such warm feelings -- really love the band and have since I was a teenager.

That AND "Epitaph" are my favourites from the album. My initial standouts were "21st Century Schizoid Man", especially, and "The Court of the Crimson King" but there's a certain subtlety To "I Talk to the Wind", as well as "Epitaph", that really appeals to me. My favourites quite often have became NOT that which wowed me at first (not so over-the-top or bombastic even if I like over-the-top and bombastic).
