This is the ninth poll that I have done covering albums included in the discographies of Prog Archives band/artist listings where I list one release per five year period (one for 1965 to 1969, one for 1975 to 1979 etc.) I also have done various polls with the same concept for releases not included in the Prog Archives database.
Multiple votes allowed, please vote for up to three (or more if such limitations are too restrictive for you). And please vote no more than once per album. Additionally, feel free to vote even if you have very limited knowledge. Comments on the selections are appreciated even if not on the positive side, and feel free to mention your own favourites off any of the albums. I hope some will come up with their own lists and polls. I don't only like to share that which I like; I also like to check out what others like.
Message "Dreams and Nightmares (Nightmares)" (From Books and Dreams, 1973) Van der Graaf Generator "The Sleepwalkers" (Godbluff, 1975) Holger Czukay, Jah Wobble & Jaki Liebezeit "Twilight World" (Full Circle, 1982) Thinking Plague "Warheads" (Moonsongs, 1986) Dead Can Dance "Black Sun" (Aion, 1990) Mercury Rev "Holes" (Deserter's Songs, 1998) Radiohead "How to Disappear Completely" (Kid A, 2000) Kayo Dot "Immortelle and Paper Caravelle" (Dowsing Anemone With Copper Tongue, 2006) Bent Knee "Being Human" (Shiny Eyed Babies, 2014) David Bowie "Blackstar" (Blackstar, 2016) Squid "If You Had Seen The Bull's Swimming Attempts You Would Have Stayed Away" (O Monolith, 2023) Here's the youtube playlist in case you wish to listen to any of these tracks. |

Thinking Plague, Mercury Rev, and Bowie got my votes. I chose to write this post inside a 9-inch pie pan.

Thanks all.
I'm feeling in a slightly more on the modern-side songs (as opposed to 60 through 80s songs) mood right now possibly, and I'll go with Bowie, Mercury Rev, Radiohead & Kayo Dot. Really, I could just as easily go for others, not surprisingly. Edited by Logan - January 22 2024 at 18:15 |
