Sorry for simil(ar) :D
With my band (Ordine Geometrico Demonstrata) we're gonna do, in a day between 6 and 12 of December, a jam session of an entire day. It will be a suite (non structured) concerning language and human expression, as our drummer stated, helped in the concept by our bass player-philosopher and some twisted (mainly musical) ideas by me. Our aim is to reach 12-15 hours of non-stop jamming (without drugs, guys :D), with every minute recorded and available on our website as usual. I don't know if we CAN do something like this, but surely it will be interesting to try. Do you know if another band did this? Thank you for your patience. |

I think this has already been done, but it's always interesting to see someone doing things like that. I just wonder how do you think to record the entire session...do you own the largest hard-disk in the universe?!! |

@ Nimrodel: I don't know if I understood right what you said, but let
me answer however: we HOPE to have such a talent. We created this band
just tu amuse ourselves and to be able to do everything we wanted,
musically and conceptually. So, if you like us (please, visit our
website! Clicking on the centre you can download our music), great. If
you don't like us, well, we're sorry, but we'll remain friends ;)
@ Porter: we are searching for friends who'll change the cd for us :D Well, this is bad, for we'll have to somehow pause ourselves at the end of every cd, but just imagine this like a sort of suite movement :D Such friends will be also the ones who will bring us food and water from time to time, ehehe! |

Incidentally, our drummer's family also owns a recording studio :D We just have to kidnap it for an entire day. However, hope you like our music, and I will inform you of the success of our quest for mental sickness :D Edited by Morandar |

Wow, that's ambitious. Take some breaks, man... beware of tendonitis!

Well, playing for 8 + hours non-stop is not a news for me (or for my
drummer). The one who could have problem is the bass player, who cannot
practice very often and has less resistance. But we'll allow some
breaks for him :D

I think it's a great idea. Just make sure that each musician gets regular long breaks throughout, especially the drummer. Empathy makes a very good point about tendonitis! |

We did a few sessions that lasted several hours with our own band "Bald Angels", (which consists of Jean : keyboards and harmony vocals and me : drums, percussion and lead vocals only) and a few guest musicians, but nothing as long as this. Good luck with it!

We also added some more spice to this: now we have unofficially a 4th member.
Who is a painter. He'll draw some pictures while we're playing - he's a long time friend of mine, VERY proficient with painting. I'm excited, I hope everything will work :D |

That's exactly what Geoff Mann did before he joined Twelfth Night Good luck - the only band I've ever seen jam for anywhere near as long is the Ozric Tentacles. At a free festival I went to, they hit the stage at 9pm, and finally left at 6am. It was a lot of fun - I got offered a half hour slot behind the bass (which I dutifully and gratefully took ). Can't say it was without drugs though |

Ozric Tentacles rock! They are one of my main inspiration for what concernes sounds and psychotic near-to-death jamming.
I'm so sad I'll lose their show in Milan, but it's the same day of Dream Theater and I already had the ticket :( However, our painter will also change the cd on the fly, and will provide us some food...useful painter. Hope he'll not abuse of drugs. Maybe we'll bring some vodka. Mhhh vodka. |
