Apparently Transatlantic are done now (although they've said that before) so he probably has some time to do other stuff. I'm not sure about NMB although I thought I heard he's done with that too.

It's the same business as when Mustaine took Ellefson back because it was good for business, this case is no different, for Petrucci's business Portnoy is more beneficial than Mangini, but I wonder what Labrie really thinks, because working with a person who repeatedly insulted Labrie in a press, is quite unnoying

I was kidding about Charo of course but they could change things up a little instead of cranking out the same cliche prog metal album after another. They always deliver competent albums but rarely something that blows you away.

Probably not but they would be so much better if they got Charo to sing for them LOL

In all honesty, they would sound really great with a good female singer. Imagine them with Floor Jansen ... she could sing with ease the parts that James was barely able to in the 90s.

OMG that would be amazing!!!😎😎😎🤣

Hi,

Honestly, I thought that Transatlantic was really overblown and not really that great. I suppose it was nice to see some really good folks together, but in the end, I can not even give myself the motivation to get a single album of theirs! That's excitement for you!

Or better yet, play guitar. Believe it or not she is a virtuoso guitar player.
Charo studied under Andres Segovia. She is legit.

Yeah, I think Geddy and Alex know that there is no Rush without Neil.

Can't say the same of The Rolling Stones, ZZ Top, The Who, Led Zeppelin, or The Foo Fighters.... etc.

Nice. Even though things started to sound stale since before Portnoy left, there has been little for me to love from them without him... whether because of his absence or just coincidence I don't know. I do hope they get the magic back, though the third LTE album didn't really improve upon what the official DT have been doing.

Hi,

Heck ... at least in concert we would see some legs ... right? But old men? Nahhhhh ... we lost the shine a long time ago!

Portnoy and Morse have been close friends for 25 years, I expect Mike will still find time to work with Neal too.
