Metallica
Music has always been a matter of energy to me. On some nights I believe that a car with the needle on empty can run 50 more miles if you have the right music very loud on the radio. Hunter S Thompson

This is quite possibly the worst 1001 Albums poll so far, so I'll spare you all the dismal 1990's selection of albums as I'm afraid it really doesn't get any better than this.  And so, with that in mind, there'll be just two more polls to come for 1989 tomorrow and the day after, then I'll have a completely new series of polls for you starting next month. Roll on October! Smile

Dagmar Krause - Tank Battles  Surprised of its presence in this 1001 listConfusedClap

Hopefully, next year we ge(t Lenny Kravitz's Let Love Rule
let's just stay above the moral melee
prefer the sink to the gutter
keep our sand-castle virtues
content to be a doer
as well as a thinker,
prefer lifting our pen
rather than un-sheath our sword

I was surprised to see Dagmar Krause listed too. I've just taken a quick peek at the 1001 Album listings for 1989 and Lenny Kravitz IS coming up next in tomorrow's poll. Thumbs Up

Dagmar Krause! I still need to buy a copy of this one. I don't go into the woods anymore because I keep getting attacked by colonies of hoagie rolls.

Justice for Metallica anyway when they're currently leading the poll after I gave them a lowly 2-star rating. Embarrassed

The same for me too by a narrow margin over K.D. Lang, who's only lagging behind slightly. One more vote and she'll overtake Metallica, which'll be justice for Tracy Chapman. Smile

Not to worry, there's only two more of these 1001 Albums polls still to come. The selections were only going to get worse during the 1990's. Tongue

Not bad at all. All these four are dear to me, although I haven't listened to them in years:

Metallica - And Justice for All
Jane's Addiction - Nothing's Shocking
Sonic Youth - Daydream Nation
Pixies - Surfer Rosa

Never actually listened to that Tracy Chapman-album. But she's got a great voice.

I guess that puts me on the psychedelic Neon side of the prog spectrum. Smile
