No comments so far ... well, let me bump this just ahead of another release day (albums tend to get released on Fridays). If you don't like the calendar page, by all means let me know what could be improved! AFAIK it is currently the most complete database of new prog releases on the planet since I am incorporating data from many other big music databases, including PA, Sputnik, RYM, Bandcamp, Spotify and Amazon.

I was getting client side errors on Safari with my iPhone and IPad, and I think I did on my iMac with your site before, but it opens fine on my PC with Firefox. At some time if it grows so you get many more releases mentioned, then if one could filter that by genre tags (maybe have an include, exclude function) then that would be useful for someone like me who for instance is not generally into Neo-Prog, modern Symphonic Prog or Prog Metal, but is into much Post-Rock, Krautrock and Avant-Prog.

^ These errors are unfortunate - I am frequently updating the code, and I have implemented a mechanism that looks for changes when you return to the page and then prompts users to reload the page, but for some reason that fails for MacOS devices. They should be rare now though.

Filtering for genre or progressivness would of course be useful on the calendar. But since we assign genre on the release level at AP, it is not trivial for upcoming releases, since few people - if any - have tagged them yet. Even at much bigger websites like RYM there usually does not exist much data for yet unreleased albums. We could of course try to predict the genre and progressiveness from prior releases of the artist, or enable users to enter preliminary tags based on expectations.

I must admit that I'm not visiting your site very often, but I think that the release calendar is a nice feature. Personally, though, I would not mention "released in n days" but give the release date itself.
I used to go to DPRP to see what new albums were out and reviewed there...

^ Good point! I generally use "relative" dates on the site, but I agree that the release date should be handled differently. I'll probably display both. Thumbs Up

EDIT: done!

^ thanks, but also thanks to you for adding so many releases! Fun fact: whenever a user adds a release and links it to its Bandcamp page, the release date is automatically set and the release appears on the calendar 😊

I've just greatly improved the calendar page - on desktop browsers it is now a compact table layout and shows all upcoming releases chronologically, starting with last week (so you can see what has been "just released").

Let me know what you think about it. Is it useful to you, and if not, how would it have to change to be useful?

You can still find it at https://awesomeprog.com/calendar

Wow, another place to check for new releases! Just discovered 3 more releases I need to check out that I didn't know were coming! Yikes you're gonna kill me! LOL

One minor improvement if possible, When I click on an album to check it out and then go back to the chart it goes back to the top of the page rather than where I clicked from. Is it possible to go back to there so I don't have to scroll through again?

^ Yes, the scroll restoration was not working properly, fixed it earlier today. Thanks for the feedback!

Next week I’ll add aoty.com, and I’m already monitoring rym, pa, Sputnik and mma. The idea is that eventually this will be the most complete new release tracker on the interwebs. And hopefully the best one, too …

Another week, another round of features ... check out the releases calendar, now with top releases shown for each week! Coming up in the next couple of days is the prog status filter, as well as main genre filter (hopefully).

As always you find it at https://awesomeprog.com/calendar

And here it is ... the calendar is now by default only showing progressive releases. Cool

Another week passed by, and guess what: Lots of changes on the calendar page! It's now much easier than ever to see what's happening, as the page lists both recent and upcoming releases in separate columns. have a look!

BTW: There's now even a filter that enables you to limit the calendar to releases on PA ...

As always, the calendar can be found at https://awesomeprog.com/calendar

That's great! Really like the new format.

Already bought the Poil Ueda & Chromb! Will probably pick up the Gong. Will definitely buy the ni & French TV.
