These are all (or at least mostly) prog bands so why isn't this in the prog poll section?

Ow, there are many I appreciate, of what I've heard. Of those I've
heard tracks and/or albums I like Air, Area, Boards of Canada,
Broadcast, Cardiacs, Cocteau Twins, Magma, Norht Sea Radio Orchestra,
Pram, Stereolab, Swans and Univers Zero, but my "slam dunk" favourites (I like that expression!) are - and I'm voting for: Art Zoyd, Can, Godspeed..., Radiohead, Soft Machine and Van der Graaf Generator.

When I started listing them as I typed this on my phone while in the parking lot I did not expect it to be so Prog-heavy and my wife was done with her office work and ready to be picked up so I just hit the post option (else I might lose it). I will move it but I tend to be more concerned with topics in prog polls that have too little prog than ones in general music discussion that have lots. Anything you like from the list, AFKC?

That explains it. Ok, not a big deal. I voted for Magma and VDGG. I know some stuff by some of the others like Radiohead, GYBE, TD and Can but not familiar enough to vote so just went with Magma and VDGG (I've also seen both at least twice which I can't say about any of the others).

Thanks, I only have seen Magma in concert of those. And I just realised that somehow Portishead did not get into the list, which is weird since that has been one of my most listened to bands over the last few years (top five I expect despite only having three studio albums, but a few lives I also have been into). I guess things are too often amiss when posting on your phone while waiting in hot cars -- a way to pass some time. I am adding Portishead, because otherwise this list does not adequately represent me, and The Residents. Edited by Logan - July 19 2023 at 14:59 |

Guy! As great as most of these bands are, "up to five (or more)" and "and/or" options are like scratching styrofoam to me. (Of course I respect that can do polls however you want, but still...) |

By the way I vote for the three that are in my personal "Big 5". I don't vote for any other of these great bands. Even though I'd be quite excited about a "Tangerine Dream and Thinking Plague" album.

It's my annoying compromise that is really no compromise at all. |

I only listen to three with any kind of regularity: Comus, Magma, and Tangerine Dream.
