People's favourite prog albums of the past year have been discussed in abundance and great recommendations have been shared; now it's time to extend that same privilege to albums from all genres of the musical spectrum! Interesting! I didn't know Scorpions still do list-worthy music. Their music was never really my cup of tea, but I have a lot of respect for them. Also located some 150 km from where I come from, they still have some kind of local hero status (and I once met their ex-drummer Herman Rarebell on a train and we talked for more than an hour; they're apparently also good friends with Frank Bornemann/Eloy).

What I've actually checked out this year feels a little random. I don't have a top ten, but I got fifteen.
