Clint Eastwood was perhaps my biggest childhood hero, especially in his western roles.
I left out the dollar trilogy to make the poll a bit more exciting, although I have a feel that Unforgiven might win. I also left out whatever he did before the said trilogy, as I suspect many haven't seen earlier films of his (I haven't).
My favourite of these is Two Mules for Sister Sara that I taped on VHS back in the day when it was on TV and watched it over and over again. Any discussion on any of Clint's films is welcome. |

Probably have to go with Unforgiven here. I saw some of the others a long time ago but they seem to all blur together for me. ( It's been a while)

Unforgiven is a masterpiece. The others are merely excellent.

Interesting poll. I went with Joe Kidd with its meat and potatoes soundtrack that aptly moves the action along quite nicely. I can watch it again and again.

For me, Clint Eastwood's masterpiece western was 'The Outlaw Josey Wales'. I know I'll be in the minority for this one, but I only thought 'Unforgiven' was ok.

Hi,
I came to America in 1965 and didn't speak any English. A lot of these movies didn't click with me then, and they still don't. I'm OK with "Unforgiven", but not sure that it was as great as we think it might be ... but I really can't say much about the other films. At that time, I got to learn and enjoy a lot more from Sam Peckinpah.

I think The Outlaw Josey Wales is the greatest masterpiece by Eastwood.
In Italy the title of the movie was: Il Texano Dagli Occhi Di Ghiaccio - The Ice-eyed Texan.

I will just say the Dollars Trilogy, because I saw those films. Non of these other movies however.
