I just did one for a girl I know from another site... Mostly for laughs (and I did exaggerate) I'd love to hear what you can do! |

I can do a good impression of anyone who can't sing very well.

Not singers, but I can do a pretty good Schwarzenegger impression. I have a very low-pitched voice for a woman.

I used to do a pretty good Bruce Dickinson but my voice isn’t what it used to be.

I don't think I can, but I've done it twice in a dream.
![]() 1. In a dream I saw as a teenager I sang 'What a Wonderful World', sounding exactly like Louis Armstrong -- wow, that would really be cool! 2. A couple of weeks ago I sang in David Gilmour's voice. It was something, maybe 'Yet Another Movie', from The Momentary Lapse of Reason (I wonder why that album which I'm not very fond of, but perhaps I was back in my teenage years in that dream, around 1987, when I had bought the vinyl). In both dreams I just sang for my own pleasure and was delighted to sound exactly like the original performer.

I gave up being a Bruce Dickinson wannabe when I was 23 years old. That is after joining my first "serious" band. And then, I did it for fun for some years. Then totally gave it up. I'm not sure if I can "impersonate" BD anymore. My voice was generally likened to that of Michael Kiske and Timo Kotipelto's a lot. I "almost" detest their singing, but that happened to be my "fate" after developing my high-pitched voice. I actually can do impressions of many singers, but occasionally do that and just for fun. (The most fun is AC/DC's singer.) The thing is, mimicking the technique is easy, if you're able to do it. But some singers are impossible to mimic for me. Like Blackie Lawless... You have to be "that" person, or possess such a psychology/personality to be able to do that. For instance, Chuck Schuldiner's "Spirit Crusher" performance is very easy, a piece of cake for me to mimic. You cannot tell the difference! But his vocals on Death's previous albums is not so... I honestly don't see copying a singer as a success. In the past, the applause and stuff were great after doing that. But, now I just receive such reactions as a compliment. Also, as a listener, I prefer listening to the real singers than their copies. I never created a unique singing style, and I deeply respect those who did it. Like Jorn Lande, Dio, Geoff Tate etc... They are not among my favourite singers, but I immensely respect them.

Hi,
Not me ... but if you listen to Guy Guden (Space Pirate Radio) he has done some pretty funny versions of many of them. He forgot how to stop doing voices the day he was born! And he does actors just as well and even better!

Music is not just for listening ... it is for LIVING ... you got to feel it to know what's it about! Not being told!

I've been told I do a spot on "Horse with No Name" vocal--with or without accompaniment. Also "Climb Every Mountain" in the original pitch and warble of the Mother Abbess (Peggy Wood). I have great difficulty learning/remembering lyrics, so, otherwise, no way.

Maybe an impression of Nico would do fine as well. She also had a rather low-pitch voice and I don't foresee a problem with her German accent either

I don't have a German accent; I lived in the UK for quite a long time as a kid and have lived with Jean (who is originally from the USA) for meanwhile 28 years; we switch between English and German all the time. But I certainly can put on one. "Ve heff vays to meik you feel deeferrent".
