has anybody heard of this obscure psyhcadelic/proto prog british band the first song of there only cd peace loving man is one of my all time favourite songs and this song is extremly ahead of its time at times in this song the vocals come close to death metal lol and this is 1968 or 69 and the riff sounds like it could have been played by Black Sabbath or The 74 incarnation of King Crimson i suggest u all try to find this cd or possibly put this band under Proto Prog.

At last- someone else who knows who they are! 'Peace Loving Man' knocked my socks off when I first heard it a few years ago.

They did 2 albums in the 1960s- 'We Are Ever So Clean' and 'If Only For A Moment', which are very rare I believe. They were managed by ex Yardbirds svengali, Giorgio Gomelsky, and recorded on the 60s psychedelic label that housed Brian Auger, Marmalade.

I agree that this song is one of the great proto prog platters...

Actually I never really understood what the big deal about theses guys were> They do have a prog link as they are all playing on the Keith Tippett project Centipede, but they are not really prog! Proto-prog maybe

let's just stay above the moral melee
prefer the sink to the gutter
keep our sand-castle virtues
content to be a doer
as well as a thinker,
prefer lifting our pen
rather than un-sheath our sword

Yeah, they aren't really a prog band- indeed, 'Peace Lovin' Man' is the only song of theirs I've heard that approaches it, the rest is psychedelic. I think they housed Jim Cregan on bass, who ended up in Cockney Rebel and The Streetwalkers too, I think.
