It’s formerly possible that that actually makes some sense🤣

Alternatively, you need to seriously re-listen to all their albums for a second time and then re-think your position

Here’s something interesting - I helped out at a charity book sale today and stumbled upon this:

https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/53465473-a-whisper-of-sorrows

Does that seem familiar?!!

It was published in 2020, the sixth in series, the first of which was titled “A Litter Of Bones” (2019)

Sorry, doing this from my phone and can’t seem to paste the link - it’s a book by JD Kirk, called “A Whisper Of Sorrows” - google it and look at the front cover!!!

That'd make a nice change then if one of my posts made sense for once. Tongue

I've listened to all of IQ's albums three times over now and Resistance still remains my favourite. It must be the "ohm factor". Wacko

In 30 years we will still be talking about the legacy of this band. I feel IQ. are timeless. I constantly revisit them every single year. I definitely don’t run through their entire discography every single year but I’ll revisit a good 5 or 6 albums including live ones.

Recently. I bought the Archive boxset off their website last year. Absolutely worth it and highly recommended.

Of course they are remarkably consistent band over the last 30 years.

The Province and Ryker Skies are two of my all time favorite tracks ...by any band.

^^ for those of you who may not know, but Andy Edwards has a killer YouTube channel. He has an excellent musical and philosophical pallet. Definitely check it out.

Also. I’ve yet to hear the 2020 remix of Frequency. Interesting. I didn’t even know they officially did that.

Its funny that I just assumed it was a 'remix' as I heard that they were working on a re-issue. Not clear as to why I-tunes tagged it as '2020' and not 2009 so I'm a bit confused now as well and can find nothing online that helps. Still sounds great though Smile

and I've checked out Andy Edwards y/t channel, its very interesting and highly recommended for prog fans.

In any case I hope they officially release something like that. Actually, I’ve been so impressed with Mike Holmes when he remixes albums for IQ. EVER was absolutely fantastic and I really can’t decide which edition I love more because it is so good.
Anyhow. I hope Frequency gets the same treatment. Heck. Throw in a 5.1 mix and a live album with it. Dream come true if you ask me. 😊

So how many of you bought the latest live album release from IQ.?

IQ. At 40: Forty-years of Prog Nonsense.

I highly recommend people get it. It is as good as anything IQ. have ever done.
You get 2 CDs. It is worth it.
One of my favourite albums to listen to lately.

Don’t tend to got for live releases much, although whenever I hear an IQ one it’s always very good. I’m more of a studio album listener.

I was at the 40 years of prog nonsense gig in London, although in the end it was 41 years😊I even got the t-shirt😃

I've seen IQ a few times in London inc the last gig they played Subterranea and also played The Last Human Gateway as an unplanned encore. It was a Sunday night so ended up getting back in the middle of the night! Last gig I saw by them was just before Frequency was due to be released and Andy Edwards had just joined. Went with 2 'Prog archivers' inc Andy (broadsword). Since then I've been content with getting DVD's it seems and have become too lazy to travel to London. Now I'm living in Cornwall can't see me ever seeing them again, unless they play The Eden Project!

I saw them on their last 'Subterranea' dates too... Bury Met, I think was on the Saturday before.. Smile
Music has always been a matter of energy to me. On some nights I believe that a car with the needle on empty can run 50 more miles if you have the right music very loud on the radio. Hunter S Thompson

I’ve never seen them live. They never come to my city in Canada, so to Jared and Richard I applaud you gentlemen. Such a great honor.

First saw them at The Marquee in London, 1989, the night they “split up” to never be heard of again, until….

Then started to see them again around 2009. 6 times in total so far I think….
