I've heard Neal Morse mentioned on here before, but I don't know much about him. Is he related to Steve Morse of Deep Purple?

Never too late to discover new to you music, I would hope. I posted one from this album earlier, but you might like Mirrorball from 1995. The album features members of Pearl Jam.. This is I think a great track.


That's pretty good......I look at him as a product of the 70s and as I said he was not someone I listened to. Understand where I grew up in So Cal was not how should I say, American Folk music by kinda sorta weird white dudes not played at all LOL. My neighborhood, area and HS were rough.....I'm not Mexican but my name kept me safe lets just say......EW&F, Parliament/Funkadelic, War was the tunes of the day...everyday! Same goes with the ladies in my neighborhood, none of them listened to Carole King Big smile

Not related....Neal and one of his brothers, Alan Morse started Spock's Beard in the early 90's.

Neil Young has done a lot of stuff I'm not particularly keen on, but then he has done a lot of stuff, and the stuff I'm not keen on is maybe 30%... so still one of the greats!

I'd go along with that. I like 70% of the stuff Neil Young has done too, but his 1980's albums, I'm not so keen on.

Also Steve Morse and Neal Morse are both in the band Flying Colors.

I watched a Spock's Beard concert recently in the Prog Rock Dock concert series and never even realised I was watching Neal Morse in action, although I recognise him now after Googling his picture. Embarrassed

I have 7 SB records and many more in digital format, but honestly I'm a casual listener of the Beard, The Light and V are excellent....Snow has a great story but it wanes on me.
I've seen Neal 4-5x live in his various bands.

Trans is creative for sure, but somehow didn't work for me. I like the fact that he tried this out... but it is not his strength really, as far as I'm concerned.
