Eh? If that's a quip about the age of the persons posting, it's illogical given the number of people in their teens and early twenties who are big fans of early Floyd music. To give just one example, 16-year old reviewer frenchie gave a 5-star rating to Saucerful of Secrets. If it's a quip about the age of the tracks, it's also illogical: they're not the oldest popular Progressive Rock tracks by a long way.

Another vote for 'Echoes' here. Predictable? Nah, it just rules...

I voted no. 1 for Echoes and no. 2 for Sheep. As integral albums, I prefer DSOTM and WYWH, but as particular songs, I rate Dogs and Sheep as 2 of my PF ever top 5 songs: Animals is my third fave. This poll brought me back memories of times when  I was 13-15 year old: DSOTM, WYWH and Animals were my first 3 PF purchases (The Wall and The Final Cut would come into my then ver ythin collection soon afterwards), and they remain my fave PF albums.

My top 20 includes High Hopes, which in my opinion is one of the most beautiful Gilmour tunes ever, and the best in the post-Animals PF repertoire. I can feel my heart breaking every time the steel guitar solo goes fading out among the bell rings and those amazing keyboard orchestrations... The videoclip didn't make things easier for me; so moving I nearly lost my breath every time I saw it played on MTV.

Regards.

If to abstragate from Sid Barrett's era (in which, as David Gilmour admits, they had a "crappy" technique) the arrival of what we know as PF is, probably, One Of These Days from Meddle. The moment David got reverb, with sustain for his guitar and Roger plugged in Moog--that was it!! The sequence of TDSOTM, WYWH and Animals are, IMHO, quintessential PF and are sonic masterpieces!!
