Main bulk of this album was recorded at the Schwimmbad Club in Heidelberg in May 1999 and the motley crew of the Sturm und Drang Tour was:
Klas Edmundsson - Guitar (Lambretta) Jonas Fäldt - Drums Knut Gerwers - Declamation and Vocals Jonas Hallberg - Bass and Vocals (MarysCreek) Kenneth Magnusson - Keyboards Nik Turner - Sax, Flute and Vocals (Hawkwind, Sphynx, Inner City Unit and solo career) Science Fiction White Punk Trash Heaven [Edmundsson, Fäldt, Gerwers, Hallberg, Magnusson, Renström, Turner] A half-improvised menacing jam which highligts Knuts equally menacing lyrics. This is based on a jam played by the band on the previous tour with the basic idea by Stefan Renström. Live in Heidelberg. The New Gospel (Of Growth and Perfection) [Magnusson, Gerwers]* This song was initially a part of the 2011 album Memoirs of Rossum but ended up not being used for a number of reasons. It has since then nagged us that it didn't get a release. It was used as a background music for the In Memoriams for Stefan who we lost in september 2015. A song which means a lot to us. The Pyramid Spell [Nik Turner] A song from Nik's 1978 solo album Xitintoday. This album was the reason we asked Nik to participate to start with, our first festival gig and following tour a large part of the show consisted of songs from this album. This tour had a smaller crew and we concentrated on more rock based material but this and the song God Rock remained. Dream Worker [Harvey Bainbridge] In 1984 Kenneth went to London to see Hawkwind at Hammersmith Odeon and one of the highlights was Harvey Bainbridge's Dream Worker. We decided to use that arrangement and to The Mooralize it a bit. Dark Theatre [Magnusson, Gerwers]** As a preparation for the memorial gig for Stefan Renström Kenneth made a demo of Dark Theatre which really is a re-arrangement of Mines of Moria from The Moor's first album Every Pixie Sells A Story with Knut's poem (used in the same way in 1999) and Rikard Wadman's soprano sax solo. It was decided that the demo should be used as is. The New Desert [Magnusson, Gerwers] The last part of Consider Death from The Moor's first album with another of Knut's poems. Ends with two extravagant solos, bass and guitar. *The New Gospel (Of Growth and Perfection) was recorded in 2011 and has the same line-up except Stefan Renström (Simon Says) on Bass and Nik Turner and Jonas Hallberg does not play. **Dark Theatre was recorded in 2016 is Kenneth Magnusson on Keyboards (incl. rhythm) and Guitars, Rikard Wadman on Soprano Saxophone and Knut Gerwers on spoken word. Vocals on both these songs are from the Heidelberg gig. The show live sound engineered by Johannes Krämer and was recorded by Daniel Andersson. Mixed by Kenneth Magnusson. Tour management Sabine Truntzer from Open Minds Roadrunner. Cover depicts Virginia Oldioni (picture in the public domain) and graphically designed by Anders Magnusson. The album was released at streaming services 27/12 -2019.
