Starfish64 is now cleared for addition in Crossover, and a message has been sent to them via Facebook asking for permission to use the above biography and the profile photo.

I'm so sorry that this suggestion was overlooked when you presented it more than six and a half years ago Dieter, but thankfully it hasn't been locked due to inactivity as so often happens, and I pleased to be able to respond to your introduction to the band now.

I only rejoined the Crossover team this summer, after a previous short (six-month) spell as part of that team almost twelve years ago. During that time, towards the end of March 2013, one of our team members listened to 'The half-life of a gleam' on Progstreaming.nl and suggested that we consider carrying out an evaluation, which we did. One team member thought the album was "great melancholic music", but couldn't make his mind up about its prog qualities, another thought it definitely wasn't proggy enough to merit inclusion, and in the end we decided against adding Starfish64 to the archives.

However, Starfish64 was mentioned again yesterday in the team thread during a general discussion about team activities, and it became clear that there have now been five albums of new material released since that previous evaluation, meaning that a fresh one was perhaps now needed.

Due to the previous rejection in 2013, all three team members will need to vote a definite 'yes' to enable Starfish64 to be cleared for addition, but we'll see what happens. Do we have your permission to use your biography as written above, along with the Bandcamp/Facebook profile photo (showing the four of you) as the image on your PA page, should Starfish64 be accepted this time around?

Thanks.

About the band:

starfish64 was established in 2006 by German singer-songwriter Dieter Hoffmann. Originally intended to be a vehicle for his solo-work after years as a singer in various bands, starfish64 began recording and publishing in the singer-songwriter genre at first. Over the years, however, sound and compositions shifted more and more towards progressive and new art rock. The albums Refugees and An Altered State Of Joy both received great reviews by DPRP, Betreutes Proggen, Progradar, Progcritique and many more.

Henrik Kropp (Drums and Design), followed by Dominik Suhl (Guitars & Basses) became full members of starfish64 in 2015. With Martin Pownall (Basses & Guitars) completing the line-up for The Future In Reverse,  the former solo-project finally turned into a fully-fledged band.

starfish64 is:

Henrik Kropp
