Topic: Where the Wild Things Are Posted: January 19 2018 at 16:09 |
To me it is among the greatest titles ever of any medium. So enigmatic, so mystical and so imaginative. I have a weakness for amgigues titles. This one in particular is very ambiguos.

"it's a kid's book!" - is the first thing I think of when I see the phrase - so any different, deep meaning is undermined, sadly.

What is where the wild things are? This? That? The woods? The kitchen? Where the wild things are what? Sleeping? Eating? Knitting sweaters? It's like a sentence sandwich, but it's missing both pieces of bread. It's just the filling. The top and bottom bun are mysteries.
The junkyard is where the wild things are playing xylophones Spain is where the wild things are excavating dinosaur bones The bathtub is where the wild things are storing their electric eels
Yes, it is a great title.

Another favourite title is 'The strange case of Dr Jekyl and Mr Hyde'.
