Great writing, great cast, and strictly limited itself to six episodes in 1975, followed four years later by another six.
It didn't outstay its welcome.

Afterwards, of course, John Cleese was back with the Pythons for "Life Of Brian" etc.

it dident go one episode too long it stopped and then it was over. And that was al it needed to deliver its charm. Not like certain sit-coms that goes on too long

^ It did seem to benefit from a short run but I always felt twelve episodes was a bit short--  one more season would've been great to see.

It doesn't, "Only Fools and Horses" beats it in a lot of polls.
