For fans of modern/60's jazz, prog, and rock/metal

   Hey guys! I don't really even know what to call my music anymore. There is such a blend of modern/60's jazz (Bill Evans, Coltrane, McCoy Tyner, Miles Davis, etc), progressive rock/metal, and a bit of electronic, but delivered with a mostly piano/sax led instrumentation. So take that irreverent pile of influential details as you will, I just hope you like it. Let me know what you think composition and mixing wise. Also, I would really appreciate some information about good ways to promote my music online. What avenues have you guys found that have been successful?

	hmmmm first thing... ditch caring what to label it. Honestly... the only people that really care about labels are the musicians themselves it seems. If it is good.. people will dig it.. no matter what you call it. Feel silly saying it since you probably know it, most musicians do, but the internet has a been a boon and curse. Great for the listners.. bad for the musicians. Good luck trying to promote it online. I suppose the lack of responces you will likely get (though as always will happy to be proved wrong) is proof enough. Most listeners suffer from music overload. Man.. with teh internet it seems every swinging dick is not just making music in the garage like we did back in teh day, but now can record it and be able to present it to the world. the death of the labels.. hell yeah.. but of course that killed the primary outlet for helping screen and learn of new music. It isn't a flood man.. it's an avalance. Anyhow my advice... if you really want people to hear your music. Take it live... if not... be content to the few that might stumble upon it. Though a few artists have taken my advice and used sex violence, explosions and good old red blooded hooks to draw listeners in and it worked. Other than that... good luck man!

	Well, yeah. I don't really like the fact that I have to label my music, and despite how little I care about its category I am sort of forced to every time I have to type something into the genre category on Soundcloud or to come up with a forum post title in an effort to try to attract some listeners to my ecclectic jazz-school rock bullsh*t, haha. I feel what you are saying with the music overload there. I think that is just a product of some people's psychology. People tend to deem a certain ratio of information around them as irrelevant based on how much they have access to. I'm even guilty of some of it myself. I have the means through spotify and youtube to listen to multiple albums all of the way through every day, and I'd never make a dent in music as a whole by the time I die. Who cares about cultural immersion and art though? Maybe I'll just use my sex appeal and bring glam rock back to get my name up in lights.
