For Immediate Release

Legendary CAN Vocalist Damo Suzuki Releases A New Live Album!

Los Angeles, CA - From Damo Suzuki, the innovative vocalist of legendary Krautrock group Can, comes this incredible live album recorded in the Purcell Room at Queen Elizabeth Hall, London 2007. Entitled Floating Element, this amazing concert recording captures Damo’s inimitable, improvisational singing in an unforgettable performance brimming with passion and fury. Joining the vocalist for a momentous collaboration is the Elysian Quartet, a classical string quartet, who weave their sonic textures around Damo’s haunting voice. Together these artists create one single, 76-minute musical masterpiece that both defies categorization and is utterly riveting! Available on CD as well as in a special double LP vinyl set.

Hi,

Been wanting to hear Damo in a different context than another band redoing the old stuff. I think I definitely want to hear this, and hopefully it is the beginning of something new and exciting from Damo.

It's just strange to see an "actor" on stage, redoing the same play all the time. I would think/expect to find some new material, though I'm not sure that many of the musicians he meets are capable of doing a whole lot of experimentation, in order to help him create new material.

In his work with CAN, it wasn't all about Damo. In his solo albums, he can not pull it off by himself, though there are some moments here or there that stand out.

Hopefully this is a great sign, and we will be able to catch some newer stuff.
Music is not just for listening ... it is for LIVING ... you got to feel it to know what's it about! Not being told!
