"Roots and Roads" is Yossi Sassi band's 3rd studio album. Its genre can be described as Oriental Prog Metal, combining Yossi's various musical roots – east and west, acoustic and electric, oriental and metal.
The final sound of the album is the reflection of an intricate combination of rock, classical and worldwide oriental instruments: Flute, Clarinet, Violin, Bozuouki, Oud, Saz, Charango, Chumbush, Ney, Kanun and much more. Alongside well-renowned local (Israeli) guest musicians, the album includes vocals by Zaher Zorgati (Myrath) and guitar tunes by Ron "Bumblefoot" Thal (ex-Guns'n'Roses). It's surprising to see Ron Thal involved he's such a talented individual but then so is Yossi. Orphaned Land are great.
Your looking really good as usual Raya.

Yossi's band has a long affair with the Bumble. He was in "Desert Butterflies" (the previous album) as well. He also played a few shows with the band (Yossi Sassi band) in Israel.
Yossi has parted with OL at 2014 after 25 years to make his own music. So this is basically his first album while he is already doing his stuff. And his stuff are amazing. Just give it a try And i don't look that good anymore. Haven't updated my photo here since 2004! LOL So here's one from last year with my love Bumble after a great masterclass i booked for him and Yossi in Israel. |

Great picture! You still look the same to me.
Thanks for all the info as well. It might be a while but I'll review the last two Yossi albums eventually. I have lots going on in my life right now and it's not all good.
