Alan Young, he who shared his life with the one and only Mr Ed, the talking horse, has passed away at the grand old age of 95.

For those of us of a certain vintage, this show was one of the finest ever made, and was a big part of my childhood.

Altogether now....."a horse is a horse, of course, of course, and no one can talk to a horse, of course, unless, of course, the name of the horse is the famous Mr Ed".

RIP

the loss of old children TV heroes is always tough, becouse one remember all the good innosent times and mild teachings from those old shows, like Sesame Street (or Sesam Stasjon on norwegian), Fraggle rock, plenty of norwegian shows youve never herd of, and such

so rip legend of children TV, may your memory be preserved in the archives of BBC

Go right to the source and ask the horse
He'll give you the answer that you'll endorse.
He's always on a steady course.
Talk to Mr. Ed!

Yes, watched that show all the time. Always loved how Ed outsmarted the humans.

to take the place of the mud shark in your mythology...

A show that seemed to be about a nut who thought his horse could talk (Harvey anyone?) ~ but I do love me some sentiment, so I get it.   Wow 95, not bad at all.

What pleasant images of watching Mr. Ed as kid, simpler times.  It is still in syndication and when it is on, I put down the remote and watch.  Love the episode where Ed is a huge Dodger fan and goes to the ball park and hits a home run off of Sandy Koufax (I think).

Thanks for the memories Alan, RIP.
