New option on the Fan Club page, join for £5 a month, get 8 back catalogue items and anything we release whilst you're a member is free.

This offer will go up to £20 a year in one week. So get it whilst it's hot. ;-)

I've got to laugh, checked the stats on the website. Thanks ever so much for the person who went on today, played a 37 minute track all the way through (hence "presumably liked it") and then didn't buy anything. ;-)

Well, I am officially a radio station, then. ;-)

That's why the offer lasts one week. ;-)

Perhaps he liked it well enough to listen to it all once, but not enough to listen to it again (and pay for it)?  I think you expect too much...

Afraid not, Infocat, this is the pattern of plays on Bandcamp. I have about 12,000 plays there. There are analysis tools, and the conclusions are quite clear: a lot of users simply jump on and use it as a free radio station. Which is pretty sad.

"Expect too much", alas,no. If you look at the ratio of complete plays to album purchases, it's about 1 in 100. I have other friends on Bandcamp with about the same stats. Why sit through an album if you don't like it ? ;-)

I don't think I expect too much, I think you have come to a conclusion about how people behave on music download sites without actually having the figures in front of you. I find it amazing how anyone thinks the situation will continue like this.
