Deke Leonard has written the third instalment of his life in music. It picks the story up in 1977 after Man split up and continues through their 83 reformation and almost up the present day I believe. I haven't read it yet but if it's anything like the first 2 it'll be well worth a read as Deke is a great and very humorous raconteur.

Hi,

Quite enjoyable read. Sad in many ways, specially how you can see directly how many people try to rip off bands at the door by running with the money (so to speak) and hurt the band's efforts, for which they have to overcome in time to play a show ... some very funny moments!

A difficult book to review. I want to say something, but in the end, I look at it, and feel like ... I don't know what to say! In some ways, Deke, has already said it all, including how we feel ... he's living proof of that!

Maybe I miss Micky ... but I think that so does Deke and many other folks! But the book is during a time when The Man Band, was falling apart, and two/three people wanted to keep it going! The recordings, and one DVD (which came damaged and is unplayable -- how a propos and sad!!!) are poor ... and sometimes sad. And the title, just takes a double meaning ... and I just want to cry and put on the 20 minute version of C'mon from Back Into the Future album! .... to cheer me up!

But, mannn .... some really nice albums!

Music is not just for listening ... it is for LIVING ... you got to feel it to know what's it about! Not being told!
