They're coming to Israel too, If Fripp was included I would be going for sure, without him I don't know.

! Would've strongly considered it, looks fantastic, and I'm in Sydney at the time and everything, but it's a bit too expensive for me. And I can't stand up for three hours anyway. Oh well. Maybe Crimson will come when they reform, then it'll be worth it (though no Belew...)

Bad news, fellow Melbournian and Australian Crimso freaks. Just got this message from a friend off Adrien Belew's Facebook:
"Breaking News! (look ma, I'm CNN!) the Crimson Project tour of Australia is being moved. most likely to June 2014. we're hoping this will result in more fans enjoying this rare opportunity and perhaps an additional date or two. we will announce the new tour dates soon. for all of you who already have tickets, we thank you very much and apologize for the wait, but your tickets will be honored of course. more on this soon." Hmmmm....the line about `we're hoping this will result in more fans enjoying this rare opportunity' sounds to me like tickets barely sold, and that they're delaying in the hope more tickets sales will eventually tick over? |

Well, not that it's necessarily representative, but look at the number of people on this thread, including myself, who didn't get tickets. If they can't pull a great many tickets out of the kind of crowd that visits PA, then they're gunna have a problem. Sad news, but maybe I'll be able to make it in June, who knows.

Actually maybe tickets weren't the main problem, at least not now- Oztix indicates Melbourne & Sydney are now sold out.
Oh well, I guess (I hope) that the KC reunion will come down our way, and my money would probably be better off spent on that- though I do love Belew, and am not that fond of Jaksyk... but then again, Fripp. Edited by Kazza3 - January 03 2014 at 04:48 |

Just maybe they could add a show in Adelaide to coincide with the Adelaide Guitar Festival.
Now that would be awesome. Guthrie Govan and The Crimson ProjeKct in one festival..... please!

I have already pestered the promotor to do an Adelaide show and they point blank refuse. See if you can persuate them that people in Adelaide do go to gigs, he reckons we don't. Beats we why Womadelaide and the guitar festival seem to have audiences. As did Return To Forever, Dream Theater, Tull etc etc. Good luck mate |

Hi Brian
There may be an Adelaide show! The promoter has started a Pledge campaign to generate interest. See my other thread or visit the Pledge site at http://www.pledgemusic.com/projects/thecrimsonprojekct Let's get behind this and show the promoters that it is worth bringing artists like to Adelaide!

I saw The Crimson Project about two or three months ago, at first I didn't want to go since Fripp is not involved but I must say it was one of the best concerts I ever attended. The double trio concept is working very well, I never saw a concert with two drummers on board, that really blew my head off. Mastelotto and Ralph were both incredible and synced like on the atom, this is what I call a professional band.
Have fun everyone! |

Thanks for this info, Sagi! I've been a bit unwell lately, so I'm dreading the show a little just because I don't think I'm quite recovered enough.
My friend that I'm going with was asking what would be the best Crimson related discs to listen to in the lead up to it, could you perhaps suggest which material they mostly drew from? |
