Down to the last five polls so some great picks here.
Man i'll have a hard time voting against Meddle although that Weidorje album and Implosion are both awesome as well.

You are certainly not making it easy JohnLOL

Some masterpieces in here, including TD, Stormy Six and Schulze. I have absolutely no idea what to vote for....

And yes, Meddle is a great album, but do everybody really adore St. Tropez and Seamus?Tongue Echoes sits on that pizza like a giant anchovie.

Your probably right David about Meddle, i just love how charming this is(well besides Echoes) it just makes me feel good. Echoes is incredible of course and so different from the rest.

I was just playing devil's advocate to be honestEmbarrassed I love Meddle, and Echoes is just about my most favourite tune from Floyd. Some of it approaches Krautrock imo - although the tune Embryo comes even closer to that:

Still, I do think that those three aforementioned records all are 'better' than the accumulated deliciousness of MeddleTongue

Hmm...

Close call for me. TD, KS, Weidorje, and SMM can easily take it for me.

I'll have to think it over.

Hey has that track(Embryo) ever been released officially ?  I do have it on a BBC disc which i know isn't authorised by the band probably the same version from the video you posted. There's some other great tracks on those BBC sessions as well.

I have all but the PT, and like all of those very much.  That said, L'Apprendista is the one that gets my vote.

I went with Samla on this one, but it could have just as easily been KS, and surely (once I hear them) the UZ/Present albums.

So do I.  I grew up with that record, and love every track.  Especially Pillow of Winds, a totally beautiful tune that people don't ever seem to talk about.  But yeah, Echoes is the main attraction, and probably my intro into the world of "prog epics", long before I even knew what prog was.

I was going to vote for another album, but after saying all this, I don't know how I could not vote for Meddle now.  I gues it'll be Meddle.  But a very strong HOORAY for "Certitudes" and "Weidorje" as well.  Ricochet's very nice too.  A good round all around.

PT Stars Die for me. It has their spacey and quirky stuff on it. I much prefer the early stuff to the last couple of PT albums.
A GREAT YEAR FOR PROG!!!

Oh Man.

I have no idea how I am going to choose on this list. I adore the Samla, PF, Present, UZ, KS, TD & Weidorje.

I'm going to have to think about this for a bit.

As much as i love Weidorje and Implosion i agree with you Steve, it's hard for me to justify not voting for Meddle. In my opinion Floyd's first 5 star record and every track is special.

This is a must for PT fans what with all the info in the liner notes as each track is discussed and so on. Plus i agree that it really is a nod to the first period of their discography which was spacey and quirky. I've owned this one for a long time and still enjoy it.
