I have little over three days to write a prog track, and I am wondering if anyone has any advice upon how I could do this.

Now, I know that many of you are going to write "Well, you can't just write a good progressive rock song in three days" but I actually have about 3 hours of motifs I have recorded.

Can any of you wonderful people give any musical advice or suggestions?

Peace!

`Begin at the beginning,' the King said gravely, `and go on till you come to the end: then stop.'

What?

Do a theme-and-variation thing.  You can take up a lot of time that way.

Take that 3 hours of recorded material and edit the living sh*t out of it; cut-and-paste and play some of it backwards...see what happens. A lot of 'prog' music was created this way. Oh, and what exactly is going to happen to you if you fail to make a prog song in three days?

A very talented person could do it in three days, but an idiot wouldn't be able to do it in 6 years. Do you have a strong grounding in music theory and application?
