I bet most people won't consider this prog, but I do, so here goes...

Skullflower are a Noise Rock/Post Metal/Spacey Drone/Psychedelic band from the U.S.A., and with this combination of sounds makes this band also fall into the heavy krautrock category, and sounding at many times like the heavier incarnation of Acid Mothers Temple (Acid Mothers Temple & The Cosmic Inferno, which is listed under the other AMT releases), and also coming across as a louder, noisier, and much spacey-er version of many Stoner Rock bands. Many members of Skullflower have also been in the 80's Drone/Noise/Ambient band Ramleh, and the Noisey guitar band Total.

Exp metal or psych or Kraut - blimey, there's a bit of jumping around there, don't you think?

Anyhow, I don't think they belong here, but will, as ever, welcome Andy or David listening.

Noisy experimental drone stuff, not the best fit here.

No, not really Stern Smile.

This can be considered metal, psych, or kraut as well as SF. SF just jam less.

You both are pretty accurate - experimental metal, psych rock, and kraut have similarities obviously, but it is a bit of a jump for each of them. Tongue

And AMT is... well.... AMT. That's pretty much the only way to describe them.

btw, I've pm'ed Damo, and if he says they've got no chance for Psych, i'll see if Philippe thinks they'll have a chance for Kraut.. I can't help myself.

Their guitar riffs are too heavy for Kraut methinks.

Not fond of slightly drone status but they can be fit for our scope ... my two yen.

They've been rejected in Psych, sadly.

Seems they weren't long for Exp/Post-Metal either. Where, then, do they belong? Is Krautrock their last refuge?
